This fall, S4 was delighted to have Rebecca Rivera as a business intern assisting our Operations Team.
Rebecca is a graduating student at Florida State College at Jacksonville. We caught up with her a few days before the end of the semester to chat about her time at S4.
The people have been so nice. I wasn’t sure what to expect from an internship. And interns on TV always have to run around getting lunch for people and answering the phone. Everyone at S4 was friendly and helpful. I felt like I belonged here, and I got to work on a few projects that actually helped the business.
I reworked the S4’s sales lead report. After taking so many classes that covered how to use tools like spreadsheets to organize that type of information, it was good to get hands-on experience. I got to see what data is useful to a real business and how to present that data in a way that is meaningful.
My main goal was to expand on what I learned in the classroom. What you learn in school is very different than working in the real world. Being here helped me understand what my strengths and weaknesses are, and what I can do now to be a stronger employee in the future.
I really wished I would have had the chance to sit down with each person to see what they do. Since I came from a general business program, I would have liked to have one-on-one time with everyone to get a better understanding about marketing, coding, and design.
How well everyone gets along. Everybody is so close and works so well together. It seemed to create an environment that helps everyone be more productive. It was so much fun being here, I actually looked forward to coming into work.
You guys are so funny. I don’t even need to play. I just enjoy watching everyone. I even took a picture of you all playing on my first day. I think it’s great you guys do it. It’s a good way to bond.
We are so happy we had the opportunity to work with Rebecca during her internship and wish her the very best of luck for graduation and beyond.
